Monkeys and Ruffles

For the past couple of weeks I've been helping a friend make quilts for her grandsons. Once I got her started with the first one, she made fast work of getting the second top cut and pieced.  I know that the boys are going to love their quilts because she made them hug pillows with some Curious George flannel fabric that they went crazy over.  I can't wait to see the quilts finished, they are going to be so cute when completed. Curious George is growing on me. I'm liking these cute little monkey prints. Etsy and Ebay have some great CG prints.

In between helping her, I managed to get a tablecloth finished up for my grand daughter's room. Chloe's room is decorated with a ladybug theme and she has an adorable ladybug bedding set. To bring in an element from her bedding set, I added a narrow black checked fabric ruffle to the tablecloth. I had also made a changing pad cover to match the bedding set. I'm not a fan of ruffles and gathers and this took me way more time than it should have. I guess I'll have to get accustomed to making the occasional gathered and ruffled item with a grand daughter to sew for! Forgive the poor picture quality I took these with a cell phone.
